cams hill school - new entrance, library and events hall

The school's design brief required a new entrance, reception, library, drama studio, events hall and office. Axis worked closely with the head teacher, David Wilmot and the main contractor to realise the project.
The Axis design team on this project had to overcome numerous challenges including limited space and a collection of contrasting styles of the existing buildings. The final design was a bold two storey structure with subtle curving and white coloured render to the façade. The new main entrance and reception provides an obvious and welcoming anchor to the school.
The finished extension provides not only a new image for the school and extra facilities for the pupils, but also for the local community.
This project was also the cause for further celebration for Axis as it was their 1000th project since the inception of the business in 1994.
