Axis is pleased to have received planning permission to extend a 1930s built house on Garrison Hill, Droxford.
We carefully guided the project through the planning process; presenting the project to the Winchester and Eastleigh Design Review Panel and speaking in support at the Winchester Planning Development Committee. The success of the project is due to the careful consideration of context, with a view to enhance the architectural landscape to the new South Downs National Park. As well as fulfilling the clients brief to create a larger kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, Axis has welcomed the opportunity to build a contemporary extension on the outskirts of the Droxford Conservation Area.
There were objections from the immediate neighbours mainly concerned about overlooking and appearance, but the project was won at the Planning Committee after being recommended for approval by the Planning Officer. Axis believes that the overlooking issues can be mediated with the use of strategically placed specimen trees that will obscure views to the neighbouring properties.
We have been appointed to see the project through to completion and look forward to helping the clients to realise their dream.
