AXIS ARCHITECTURE began practising as a firm of Chartered Architects on 1st February 1994. The coming together of two Architects and a Senior Architectural Technician, later joined by two Senior Technicians represents over 100 years of experience in the Building Industry. As of January 2006 the partnership became a limited company.
The directors, who are all from the Portsmouth and Fareham area of south Hampshire, have extensive contacts in the Local Building Industry and have a wide experience in many sectors of building including commercial, industrial, defence, residential, retail, community, health, education and leisure developments. The directors have experience of involvement with a broad scale of developments from single houses and small estates up to multimillion-pound developments.
As well as offering a conventional architectural service the Practice has a very strong technical bias and as a consequence is able to offer a specialist service to Contractor and Developer Clients and other Professionals for the production of working drawing packages and NBS specifications.
The Practice can provide any level of service required from feasibility studies, through Planning and Building Regulation applications to full architectural services including tendering, contract and on-site administration.
The Practice works hard to design buildings that are safer to build and safer to use. The directors are confident that the Practice's integrated approach to Health & Safety and CDM in the design process puts Axis in the 'competent designer' category.
The directors are used to operating standard building contracts and they also have a depth of experience of 'design and build' contracts and have been involved as Clients Agents, Contractors Agents and as Novated Designers.
The Practice operates using the latest information technology and fully integrated AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop 2004 which now incorporates a powerful design visualisation feature, "Autodesk VIZ Render", along with the latest 2D software, Autocad LT2004. Using Broad Band ADSL internet technology the Practice can offer full digital quality communications for speed and convenience.
The practice currently carries £5 million Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance.
The Practice believes it can offer a fast, cost effective service with a strong emphasis on tight financial control and low overheads along with a commitment to quality production and rapid response.
In August 1999 we received accreditation to operate a comprehensive quality system in accordance with BS ISO 9001 : 1994 requirements.
