Having worked with Gawthorpe Estates on previous projects Axis was commissioned to resolve a design of 2no. semi-detached houses for an infill site between rows of terraces in Warnford.
Warnford lies within the conservation area South Downs National Park and therefore required a robust design meeting high levels of environmental efficiency. The houses would be required to comply with high energy codes which therefore demanded air source heat pumps, solar photovoltaic panels and a mechanical ventilation and heat recovery (MVHR) system to be installed.
When this project came to Axis it required careful consideration to realise the design which meet the required energy codes set out. We utilized 3D software to assist in this process to avoid any missed clashes or under/overestimated special arrangements.
