St Andrews Church Hall

– Farlington, Hampshire

St Andrews Church Hall is the only community hall in the east Farlington area and is used by many local groups catering for the young and old.

The Parish of Farlington wanted to upgrade the hall to provide a state of the art facility and had the backing of Portsmouth City Council who identified the need in the local plan.

Initial enquiries to the National Lottery Fund were very favourable as community halls were a priority target for funding.

Axis Architecture were commissioned to provide a feasibility sketch scheme.

Fortunately or unfortunately Britain was awarded the 2012 Olympics at the same time as the Lottery Bid was being completed and the parish were informed that funds were being switched from community to the Olympics so the project was shelved.
